Rebranding a Legacy Business for a Forward-Focused Future: The Making of Merz Therapeutics’ Website

The Objective

Evolve Merz Therapeutics’ global website to reflect the company’s growth and identity today.

While rich in heritage, the site projected a dated, legacy-focused image — out of step with a modern, fast-evolving specialty neurology-focused pharmaceutical company.

The goal was to reframe Merz Therapeutics as a dynamic, innovative, and people-driven brand, while strengthening its appeal to two key audiences:

  • Potential business partners seeking a credible, research-led collaborator in neurology, and
  • Potential employees drawn to a purposeful, inclusive, and growth-oriented workplace.

The brief extended beyond visual design. Merz Therapeutics wanted a strategic content and UX overhaul; one that would reintroduce the company to the world as an empathetic, forward-thinking industry leader, while staying true to its family-owned values and century-long heritage of patient care.

Strategy and Process

Audit the existing global website and their competitors, while reviewing the company’s new corporate narrative, vision, and mission.

Using our StoryFinder process, we built a story that connected content, design, and experience to corporate strategy and business objectives.

Mapping out a new
corporate tone

We translated Merz Therapeutics’ new corporate voice — anchored in its tagline “Better outcomes for more patients” — into a cohesive website narrative, with refreshed copy that reflects:

  • A science-driven yet human-centric tone, balancing credibility with humanity.
  • A shift from legacy storytelling to forward momentum, showcasing innovation, partnerships, and long-term vision in specialty neurology.
  • Clear alignment with the company’s mission and values, emphasising how people, science, and care intersect to improve patient outcomes.

Redesigning
structure
around the
user experience

Working closely with their internal stakeholders, we restructured the site to provide clearer navigation, purposeful CTAs, and interconnected pages that guide visitors toward key goals.

Key UX and IA enhancements included:

  • A cleaner, reorganised navigation menu introducing each category in context.
  • Featured content highlights embedded directly in the menu to surface the most relevant news or initiatives.
  • New top-level pages with defined content roles, ensuring every click serves a purpose.
  • Improved internal linking to create a continuous and engaging user journey.

Building a

We restructured the content strategy around the company’s two growth engines, Partnership and People:

  • Existing “Science” and “Partnering” pages were expanded to underscore R&D expertise, strategic acquisitions, and their trusted position in neurology innovation.
  • A new “Sustainability” section unified patient impact, community engagement, and environmental initiatives, demonstrating how the company creates value beyond medicine.
  • The “Careers” page was redesigned to reflect Merz Therapeutics’ inclusive, purpose-led culture: integrating new DE&I content, benefits information, and their internal together@merztx initiative.

The Outcome

The result is a future-ready digital presence that mirrors who Merz Therapeutics is today: a company grounded in care, driven by innovation, and defined by its people.

With a clean, intuitive website structure that seamlessly tells their corporate story, and a redefined content architecture that elevates R&D, partnerships, and patient stories to the forefront, we reposition Merz Therapeutics for the next phase of their journey.
